Company Profile

Ruth Jensen is owner of SEARCH II, an agricultural and water resources consulting firm. Ruth established the business in 1980 and clients include governmental agencies, universities, the World Bank, public officials and individuals. Her focus is on policy related projects, which includes political consulting.

Ruth has extensive experience in agriculture and natural resources related policy, planning and management strategies in the Western United States. She has successfully planned, managed and coordinated numerous activities for farmers, irrigation districts, and agricultural related industries and has written and produced several agricultural newsletters. Ruth has detailed legislative and practical political experience in numerous states and has supervised political campaigns for local, state and national candidates. Through her involvement in political and legislative matters, Ruth has advised many agricultural leaders on management and personnel matters. She has developed a deep understanding of the political process and has the unique ability to work with persons on both sides of any issue.

Over the years, Search II has evolved into a diverse business offering services in the following areas:

International Agricultural Policy Planning

Participants train in the USA or in their homeland. Sponsors have included The World Bank, USAID, FAO div of the United Nations, and various Universities. Generally, participants travel over a week or 2 week period with the consultants to study various processes associated with the workshop topic. For example: If the subject relates to Water Distribution in a Limited Water Supply Region then the participants will be traveling to areas where they can observe poor, mediocre and good water distribution practices and exchange practical information on successful policies and planning methods.

Legislative and Regulatory Process Workshops

Participants are given a comprehensive overview of the workings of the legislative body in which they must work. Workshop topics include methods of communicating with members, such as letter writing, email, telephone calls and personal visits. In addition, topics can include, how an idea becomes a law and how law is regulated.

Policy and Planning Strategies Workshops

Strategic planning is critical for successful organization. Here you will obtain the necessary tools for designing policies, negociating, and establishing a plan for successful implementation.

Organizational Policy

This workshop teaches the development and functionings of your organization. We help you with Rules and Regulations process, setting up structure, fundraising, communication and meeting planning.

Campaign Consulting in Rural Communities

Plan and execute a positive and successful campaign for public office. We will assist you with developing a campaign plan, setting up your campaign committee, develop a budget, design your campaign website, produce fundraising events, plan your media campaign, and walk you through your entire campaign.

Basic Computer Training in Rural Communities

One on one basic training on personal computer is a unique way to learn how to use your computer. We install software, set-up email, teach you how to browse the Internet, diagnose and troubleshoot your computer related problems, and even teach you how to add color, pictures and sound to your pages.
